UFL’s Biggest Update Yet Arrives This Week With Season 25–26
The free-to-play football sim UFL is about to kick off a brand-new season on Xbox (and beyond), and this one brings the game’s biggest overhaul to date. Season 25–26 arrives on Friday, September 12th, alongside a sweeping update that changes how squads are built and developed.

Out With Skins, In With Cards
Until now, UFL relied on a somewhat complex system: players were bought on the transfer market, upgraded with collectible “skins,” and improved over time. That model is being replaced with something much closer to FIFA’s Ultimate Team.
Here’s what’s changing:
Fixed attributes: Every card now comes with set stats.
Simplified progression: Building your club depends on acquiring new cards, not modifying existing ones.
Lower prices: Base cards can be pulled from packs or bought on the Transfer Market at five times cheaper prices than before.
Mastery cards: Higher-tier players are now available through packs.
For existing players, don’t worry — your progress carries over. All previous skins are being seamlessly converted into cards, retaining their bonuses under the new system.
Legends Enter the Pitch
Another first for UFL is the arrival of Legend players, adding historic icons into the mix. The update also brings a redesigned user interface, reworked passing mechanics, and other major refinements.
“A Brand New Game”
Here’s how Strikerz Inc. CEO Eugene Nashilov described the transformation:
“We’re pivoting the game: a new core, new meta, new UI, legends, lots of other things. In fact, it really is a brand new game. We invite everyone to try it for the first time or come again — we are incredibly excited to see how UFL will develop next, because this is a living product, evolving right here and now together with our community. We are deeply grateful for the passion and feedback of our players, who help shape UFL every day.”
When and Where to Play
The Season 25–26 update drops on Friday, September 12th, and UFL remains free to play on Xbox Series X and Series S.
